Overview

The Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (BBA) program provides students with opportunities to build the necessary skills for the future with a deep understanding of business and technological trends at a global scale and with hands-on experience via close links to the industry.

HBS students earn a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (BBA) degree that qualifies them for a profession in business management and the opportunity to further continue their studies and earn a Master in Business Administration degree.

Academic Year and Courses

The Helvetic Business School operates on a term system with three academic terms per year. The academic year begins in September and ends in July.
Holiday periods are generally four weeks long during December/January, three weeks in April, and nine weeks over the summer break. For more information, please refer to the academic calendar.

Structure

The BBA Program structure includes 9 academic terms, with 3 terms per year. A normal course of study to complete a BBA program over three years requires the completion of 30 core courses, including the Business Plan Capstone and 15 elective courses.

Note: A set of 3 foundational courses for a total of 3 CH | 4 ECTS are offered to students who need additional proficiency in English Communication, Math, and Applied IT.
The conferring of a BBA degree from HBS follows only after completing all the following requirements:

  • Academic credit requirements — a minimum of 135 CH | 180 ECTS.
  • Academic performance requirements — a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Business Plan Capstone or Internship: a business plan delivered in the final year or the choice to do an internship for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Attendance and residency requirements.

Fees and Financial Policy

Upon notification of acceptance, HBS will provide prospective students with an official Acceptance Letter, which is necessary in many countries for student visa requests as well as for military deferral. Prior to start the visa application procedure, fifty percent (50%) of tuition and fees is payable. Tuition and Fees must be paid in full at the time of Admission.

A number of additional expenses should be expected by students, which are not covered by the tuition fees. Please be advised that you will need to account for these separately. Additional expenses may include:

  • Accommodation (CHF 750+ per month)
  • Books and e-books (CHF 100 per term)
  • Health Insurance (CHF 1’300 per year)
  • Social activities (CHF 200 per term)
  • Transportation (CHF 60 + per month)

Payment of Fees

Fifty percent (50%) of the tuition fee for each program that the student is applying for is due upon notification of acceptance and application at the Embassy. This deposit will be credited toward the student’s tuition or refunded if official notification of Helvetic Business School | Avenue du Général Guisan 58, Vevey, Switzerland withdrawal is received thirty (30) days before enrollment.
The balance of tuition and student fees is due by Admission Day at the beginning of each term. Payments can be made by direct bank transfer. Please be sure the student’s name is included on the bank transfer notice. Non-payment will result in the student not being accepted in class.
